2025 Fantasy Football Trends for Week 17

My 2025 Fantasy Football Trends for Week 17 article has arrived just in time to help you in your matchups this week and in the future!
We’re finally at the pinnacle of the fantasy season. Congratulations if you’ve made it this far. Let’s try to get you one step further—Merry Christmas and Happy Hogmanay from Scotland. Let’s bring home some fantasy championships.
RJ Harvey’s 18.7 PPR points per game since week 13
It’s been a slow burn for RJ Harvey, but we’re finally seeing what we all hoped for. After averaging just under 10 PPR points per game across the first 11 weeks, the rookie has scored an average of 18.7 PPR points per game in the four weeks since the Broncos’ bye. In week 1,6 he achieved this despite only seeing seven rushing attempts – turning that into 50 yards and a touchdown, while adding a further 71 yards through the air on four catches (five targets).
He’s seen good usage through the air, providing a stable floor, averaging four targets per game over the last four weeks. Given the increased use of split backfields among NFL teams, this is the exact archetype of running back I’m going to be targeting next off-season: hyper-efficient rushers who see consistent usage through the air.
Drake London’s 23.5% target share
The emergence of Kyle Pitts as a high-profile fantasy asset will be particularly frustrating for London managers. The fourth-year receiver suffered an injury at a crucial point of the fantasy season, after averaging almost 20 PPR points per game across his first nine starts. Upon returning from injury, London saw eight targets, resulting in just three catches for 27 yards. This equated to a 23.5% target share, behind only Robinson (11) and Pitts (9).
It may not have resulted in fantasy production. Still, it’s an encouraging workload following a four-game span on the sidelines, and an indication the Falcons are looking to get the star receiver immediately involved. I understand the trepidation around starting London in the fantasy championship, but I’m willing to take the risk given the upside we have seen this season, and the usage last week.

Bucky Irving’s eight targets since week 13
Irving enjoyed a strong first month of the NFL season, scoring almost 18 PPR points per game, helped by consistent usage in the passing game. Upon his return from injury, however, the production has been somewhat lacking. Last week, Irving rushed 19 times for 71 yards, equating to around two-thirds of the running back rushing attempts – he has now not seen fewer than 15 rushing attempts since his return in week 13. However, after seeing 19 targets across his first four games, he has had just eight in the last four, and was not targeted at all in week 16.
As a result, we’re now having to rely on volume on the ground, and hoping for red zone usage (which was vulture by Sean Tucker). It’s a great matchup against Miami this weekend, but beware of the possible low ceiling if targets and goal-line carries don’t return.

Emeka Egbuka’s 56% snap share
Sigh. Egbuka’s blistering hot start to his career has come to a grinding halt. Over the last six weeks, the rookie has scored double-digit PPR points just once. Week 16 saw him post his lowest target and reception totals of the year, reeling in just one of his two targets for 40 yards. Egbuka played on just 56% of offensive snaps last week, marking his lowest total of the campaign since week 6 (53%) – in which he injured his hamstring.
With Evans and Godwin back, the rookie’s target totals have continued to fall. He’s a boom/bust option this weekend, and someone I’m not willing to risk in my lineup given the recent downward trend.

Troy Franklin’s 64% snap share
It’s been an up-and-down year for Franklin in his second season. The receiver started to showcase some consistency in the middle of the season, averaging nine targets per game between week 7 and 11 and posting just 32 yards across five catches in the two games following the bye. The last two weeks have been an improvement, with Franklin being targeted five times in week 16, resulting in four catches for 66 yards.
This coincided with Franklin seeing his snap share increase to 64%, his highest figure since week 11. With Pat Bryant likely sitting out this coming week after a scary concussion, it opens the door again for Franklin. He’s a high upside option for fantasy managers this week.
