I CANNOT wait to talk some IDP shop with you all through this article, as well as on our socials here at FANTASY IN FRAMES leading up to Sunday’s kickoff. So how about I dispense with the pleasantries and get right down to business, OK?

Here are my recommended IDP Plays and Fades for Week 11!

*Rankings and Fantasy point scoring will be based on FantasyPros IDP scoring, which can be found here.*

**Base metrics are provided by FantasyData, and advanced metrics such as Pass Rush Productivity (PRP), Pass Rush Win Rate (PRWR), and Average Depth of Tackle (AVDT) will be referenced via Pro Football Focus.**

Defensive Linemen

Play: Montez Sweat, EDGE, Chicago Bears @ Minnesota Vikings

  • Montez Sweat has been on a heater since Week 7, tallying 16 total tackles, 4.5 Sacks, & 5 TFLs for an average of 14.5 fantasy points per game, which has him as the DE9 during that time period.
  • This guy gets tackles, defensive stops, sacks, and faces a Vikings team this week that is allowing the 11th most fantasy points per game to the position. Fire him up with confidence.

Play: Tuli Tuipolotu, EDGE, Los Angeles Chargers @ Jacksonville Jaguars

  • Facing a team that has allowed 26 sacks on the season, Tuipolotu and his 20% pressure rate, since Week 8, are in line for a BIG week against Jacksonville.
  • With a sack in each of the last three games along with 6 total tackles, 4 TFLs, and 1 Forced Fumble, look for him to continue his trend of performances in Week 11.

Play: Jalon Walker, EDGE, Atlanta Falcons vs Carolina Panthers

  • In back-to-back weeks, he’s averaged a 15.6% pressure rate.
  • Has played at least 65% of defensive snaps over the past two games exclusively at the line of scrimmage at DL alignment, which is important as he’s not asked to play in coverage or at off-ball despite his dual designation as a DL/LB or OLB
  • He faces a Panthers team that, since Week 7, has allowed the 7th most fantasy points to the position.

Fade:  YaYa Diaby, EDGE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Buffalo Bills

  • Buffalo has allowed the FEWEST PPG average to the position since Week 7.
  • Diaby is 49th in sack conversion rate amongst all defensive linemen and linebackers.
  • His low tackle floor in back-to-back games has made him too “Impact Play” dependent which should fade confidence with fantasy managers.

Fade: Uchenna Nwuosu, EDGE, Seattle Seahawks @ Los Angeles Rams

  • While his 18.9% pressure rate has been impressive since Week 7, his productivity has been much less so.
  • Just 8.5 tackles and 1.5 sacks while playing under 60% of snaps the past two games played is not ideal.
  • The Rams have allowed the 3rd fewest sacks on the season and the 2nd fewest fantasy points to the defensive end position since Week 7.

Fade: Leonard Williams, DT, Seattle Seahawks @ Los Angeles Rams

  • The Rams are in the middle of the road amongst NFL teams in fantasy points per game allowed to interior offensive linemen since Week 7. While Leonard Williams has been the DT14 during that timespan, he’s only been averaging 9.2 fantasy points per game.
  • Per PFF, the Rams have been 7th in pass-blocking efficiency since Week 7, and given the low fantasy floor and other streaming options available with a higher fantasy floor like the players mentioned above, I wouldn’t expect too much of an impact from Williams this week.

Linebackers

Play: Tatum Bethune, San Francisco 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals

  • The guy keeps improving each week. His 16.7% tackle efficiency since Week 7, his LB12 rankings in points per game with an average of 14.4 points, and the fact that his solo to assisted tackle numbers are starting to favor more solo tackles, which are more valuable in terms of fantasy points, Bethune is approaching must-start status.
  • The Cardinals, since Week 7, have allowed the 2nd most fantasy points per game to off-ball linebackers.

Play: *Ronnie Harrison, Jr*., Atlanta Falcons vs. Carolina Panthers

  • Here is where the game within the game of fantasy football begins to take shape. Ronnie Harrison, who was the Falcons’ free safety, has recently converted to linebacker. Practice reports and interviews with coaches have been glowing about him, and in Week 10, on just 45.5% of snaps, he posted a tackle efficiency of 17.1% with 7 total tackles, a TFL, and a sack for 15.5 fantasy points.
  • Here’s the thing: most platforms still have him listed as a defensive back, so by starting him this week, even though technically he’s a linebacker now, you could get linebacker production in terms of tackles for your DB spot.
  • Carolina has allowed, since Week 7, the 9th most fantasy points per game to the position, so you are REALLY in for a pleasant surprise by inserting this “linebacker” into your defensive back spot.

Play: SirVocea Dennis, Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Buffalo Bills

  • Pass the SirVocea over here, please. The Bills are allowing THE most fantasy points per game to off ball linebackers, Dennis since Week 7 has been with LB18 averaging 13.1 fantasy points per game (Week 10 was a dud performance), has been effective in making impact plays, evidenced by his number one ranking in sack conversation percentage and LB20 ranking of total plays on ball, and is quite frankly the best all-around playmaker for the Buccanneers at linebacker.
  • Needless to say, all signs point to Dennis having an excellent week for fantasy managers!

Fade: Nick Bolton, Kansas City Chiefs @ Denver Broncos

  • The Broncos have been kind of stingy to opposing linebackers in recent weeks, allowing the fewest fantasy points per game since Week 7 to off-ball linebackers.
  • Combining that factoid with the fact that Nick Bolton has been the LB56 during that time period is a bit concerning. Now, someone can tell me, ‘His tackle efficiency is excellent,’ to which I would say it sure is, if what you want is a majority of assisted tackles that end up capping your fantasy upside. Then, by all means, go for it. I’d rather start with someone who has more explosive potential.

Fade: Drake Thomas, Seattle Seahawks @ Los Angeles Rams

  • With Ernest Jones IV potentially back in the mix, I’m curious to see how Drake Thomas’ every-down role percentage will be affected versus the Rams.
  • While he has been playing well for fantasy managers lately, it has NOT been due to his tackle volume, having only an 8.8% tackle efficiency.
  • He’s more of a coverage playing, occasional edge rushing type of off-ball linebacker that, if he doesn’t hit home on these Impact Plays, he could hurt you.
  • On top of ALL THAT, the Rams since Week 7 have allowed the 3rd fewest fantasy points per game to the position. Find other options than Thomas this week.

Fade: Jack Campbell, Detroit Lions @ Philadelphia Eagles

  • The Eagles allow the 7th fewest points per game to off-ball linebackers.
  • His 10.3% tackle efficiency since Week 7 is very concerning, as evidenced by his recent high-scoring performances, which suggest he’s more of a boom-or-bust fantasy player.

Defensive Backs

Play: Ty Okada, S, Seattle Seahawks @ Los Angeles Rams

  • With Julian Love still on IR, Ty Okada has not only filled in for Love but has filled in well for IDP managers.
  • Okada ranks 3rd amongst safeties in fantasy points per game with an average of 13.9 since Week 7. That has him as the DB6 overall during that time span.
  • PFF’s 17th-best graded safety overall since Week 7, while playing a primarily box role, is what you want out of your safeties.
  • Only one time in their previous three games have the Rams not allowed a double-digit fantasy scoring safety. Fire Okada up with confidence this week.

Play: Nick Emmanwori, CB/S, Seattle Seahawks @ Los Angeles Rams

  • Let’s keep this Seahawks theme going with newly minted slot cornerback for the ‘Hawks, Nick Emmanwori.
  • Since Week 9, when we saw his shift from Safety to Slot CB occur, he was finished as the DB15 overall, averaging 14.7 points per gam.e
  • Slot Corners are the new hotness in fantasy football as they cover so many roles on the field from assisting in blitzing, run support, and short, intermediate, and deep coverage assignments. They are literally the Swiss Army knives of the defensive backfield.
  • Versus a pass-heavy Rams’ team, look for Emmanwori to be targeted often and, as a result, make quite a few plays on the ball, which will ultimately help his fantasy floor.

Play: Dane Belton, S, New York Giants vs. Green Bay Packers

  • Last week, we saw Reed Blankenship have fantasy success playing closer to the line of scrimmage in a box safety role vs. Green Bay, which is precisely where Dane Belton will find himself this week now that Tyler Nubin will likely miss playing in Week 11.
  • Over the past three games played, Green Bay has given multiple safeties double-digit fantasy points during that time period. Given the Giants’ need to help slow down this Packers’ running game, Belton will be patrolling the right area of the field to make enough plays on the ball to be fantasy relevant.

Fade: Donovan Wilson, S, Dallas Cowboys @ Las Vegas Raiders

  • The Raiders allow the 2nd fewest fantasy points per game to the safety position since Week 7.
  • Given the improvements in the linebacking corps with Logan Wilson and DeMarvion Overshown for Dallas, the need for Wilson to creep up closer to the line won’t be as high, making his fantasy floor limited at best.

Fade: Jaquan Brisker, S, Chicago Bears @ Minnesota Vikings

  • The Vikings have allowed 3rd third-fewest fantasy points per game to the safety position since Week 7.
  • Whether it is Tremaine Edmunds and T.J. Edwards or Edmunds and Noah Sewell, the linebacking duo for the Bears practically play three-down roles, making the need for Brisker to be utilized as 3rd down linebacker moot.
  • On top of that, he has been one of the worst graded safeties since Week 7, per PFF. Do better, folks.

Fade: Devon Witherspoon, CB/S, Seattle Seahawks @ Los Angeles Rams

  • With Witherspoon moving to more of an outside cornerback role, his fantasy production has taken a hit. Since Week 7, we’ve seen him drop in rankings from a Top 25 Safety in fantasy points per game all the way down to the S45 and DB95 overall.
  • For the time being, it’s time to move on from Devon.
