2025 IDP Waiver Wire for Week 10

2025 IDP Waiver Wire for Week 10

Welcome to the 2025 IDP Waiver Wire For Week 10!

I’m baaack!

After a hiatus caused by that most annoying of complications known as “life” and “family” (pain in my butt—the lot of them), this writer is back in the saddle for another edition of the IDP Waiver Wire.

And it’s just in the nick of time.

With the calendar turning to November, we’re rapidly approaching the stretch run of the fantasy football regular season. Quite a few IDP managers are rapidly running out of margin for error. At 4-5 or 5-4, the season is teetering. Peel off some wins, and it’s on to playoffs. Hit a skid, and well…that’s that.

It doesn’t help that starting lineups keep sprouting leaks. The Seahawks lost linebacker Ernest Jones IV to a knee injury in Sunday night’s demolition of the Washington Commanders. Last week’s practice injury from Travis Hunter of the Jacksonville Jaguars landed the rookie on injured reserve.

Then there’s the defensive players who aren’t coming close to meeting expectations. The Zaire Franklin disappearance tour continued Sunday in Pittsburgh. Danielle Hunter of the Houston Texans and Jonathan Greenard of the Minnesota Vikings both rank outside the top-25 edge-rushers in The Godfather’s Default IDP Scoring.

It’s an easy equation as we enter Week 10. Get better—or die.

No pressure.

IDP PICKUP OF THE WEEK

LB Mohamoud Diabate, Cleveland

The Browns didn’t play in Week 9, but the team has injury issues coming out of the bye—rookie Carson Schwesinger has a high-ankle sprain and will miss multiple games. Two weeks ago the Browns turned to third-year pro Mohamoud Diabate, who Cleveland linebackers coach Jason Tarver raved about over the offseason while speaking to reporters.

“I’m really excited about Mohamoud,” Tarver said. “His explosive numbers are through the roof. He’s running and he barely looks like he gets tired. He is impressive as heck and now he’s playing all three positions. So, when he came in last year, what we do is we give them a home first–one position out of the backers–and he had his one position, and when he went in the game that’s where he played. Now, he’s playing the other ones. So, very excited where he’s going.”

Diabate made 11 starts for the Browns in 2024, logging 70 total tackles and five tackles for loss. With Schwesinger on the shelf, Diabate is expected to assume “green dot” duties for the Browns, and while this week’s matchup with the New York Jets isn’t ideal, it’s not easy to find a “green dot” LB on the waiver wire in November.

WEEK 10 IDP WAIVER WIRE TARGETS

EDGE K’Lavon Chaisson, New England

For most of Chaisson’s career, the former first round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars has disappointed. But Chaisson has already set a career-high in sacks (5.5) in his first season with the Patriots, although while addressing the media Chaisson was quick to credit his teammates on the Pats’ defensive front.

“I think it’s obviously the dominance of the front,” Chaisson said. “We’ve got the big boys inside causing havoc, Christian Barmore, Milton Williams. I’ve got Harold (Landry) on the other side, fighting through chips, trying to help me win my 1-on-1s. Of course, we had our guys in the backend giving us an extra second to get to the quarterback. Everybody is playing a key role in this, and I’m just excited to be a part of this defense.”

Chaisson got home in Sunday’s win over the Atlanta Falcons, chipping in a pair of tackles and a forced fumble. Over the past three games, Chaisson has six stops, three sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery—numbers that rank the 26-year-old inside the top-five defensive linemen over that span.

EDGE Laiatu Latu, Indianapolis

Latu was the first defender drafted in 2024, but for most of his professional career to date the former UCLA standout has been hit-or-miss. However, as Ryan Fowler wrote for Fansided, if Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers was any indication, the Latu-lightbulb is coming on.

“At his size, weight, and length, Latu doesn’t just rely on one trick–he’s developed into a multi-dimensional pass rusher capable of winning in several ways,” he said. “His pass-rush plan is polished and precise, rare for a player only 25 games into his professional career. Latu can win with a clean, violent swipe-rip move around the corner, or collapse the pocket with bull rush power that catches even seasoned tackles off guard.”

Latu went on an absolute rampage against the Steelers, logging six total tackles, 2.5 sacks, three tackles for loss and three quarterback hits. Chasing a big week can be a tricky proposition for IDP managers, but good luck finding an edge-rusher with Latu’s upside and potential on the waiver wire this deep into the season.

LB Tyrice Knight, Seattle

Knight opened the season as the No. 2 linebacker opposite Jones in Seattle, but he eventually lost his starting job to Drake Thomas. It was a surprising fall from grace for a player multiple pundits (including Sportsnaut’s Matt Johnson) tabbed as a breakout candidate over the summer.

“Knight, a fourth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, understandably flew under the radar for many football fans last season,” he said. “That should change this fall. In his final eight games, he racked up 26 solo tackles, 4 QB hits, 2 pass deflections, 2 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. Knight’s range, in this system with all the surrounding talent, could lead to an outstanding season.”

Well, Knight may get another chance to prove those pundits right. Jones’ injury isn’t believed to be season-ending, but given how quickly he was ruled out Sunday night, it’s also unlikely he’ll be back on the field in Week 10. In that game against the Commanders, Knight led the Seahawks with 10 total tackles in just 57 percent of the defensive snaps.

LB Trevin Wallace, Carolina

It has been an up-and-down season for Wallace—over Carolina’s first seven games, the youngster topped six total tackles exactly zero times. But in a somewhat surprising move, the Panthers took “green dot” duties from Christian Rozeboom and gave them to Wallace, and star defensive tackle Derrick Brown told reporters the move has improved the Panthers’ defense.

“It’s working. I didn’t even know they switched, really, but it’s working,” Brown said. “Because in practice they both call it so when we got in the game and one was calling, I never think about it. I just saw one of the guys back there calling it so when I kept seeing that people said they switched, I was like, ‘Oh, right,’ but my job is to keep them clean, so that’s it, no matter who it is back there.”

The switch has given a boost to Wallace’s individual production as well—over the past two weeks, Wallace has amassed 16 total tackles and a sack—numbers that rank Wallace 10th in fantasy points among linebackers. As for Rozeboom? His snaps are down, but no linebacker has more fantasy points over that span. Go figure.

S Isaiah Pola-Mao, Las Vegas

After losing a heartbreaker in overtime to the Jaguars last week, not a whole lot has gone right for the Raiders this season—on either side of the ball. However, safety Isaiah Pola-Mao has been on something of a rip lately, drawing praise from Raiders beat writer Hondo Carpenter of SI.

“I like every single thing about his game, but if there is one thing I like more than anything, it is that he does not repeat mistakes,” he said. “This coaching staff loves the fact that he does not repeat mistakes. He takes coaching very well. He takes it. He goes back and watches the film to make sure he can identify why exactly he did what he did. And then he corrects it by developing the muscle memory.”

Over his past two games, Pola-Mao has piled up 19 total tackles (15 solo) with an interception and two passes defensed—numbers that make him fantasy’s highest-scoring safety over that span. This week’s opponent (the Denver Broncos) is a decent fantasy matchup for safeties, so Pola-Mao has a good chance to keep his hot streak rolling.

S Justin Reid, New Orleans

A miserable season in New Orleans hit a new low last week—the Saints were blown out by the Rams in Los Angeles in Tyler Shough’s first career start. It’s a far cry from back before the season, when veteran safety Justin Reid talked up the impact he hoped to make with his new team in 2025.

“I see myself as a physical tone-setter,” Reid told reporters. “A guy who’s going to come down the hallway with me, you’re going to pay the toll for it. And we just compliment each other really well; we have a strong line of communication, both cerebral players, can organize a defense. It’s gonna be fun.”

The fun may have long ago ended, but to Reid’s credit he has been a bright spot on the defense of late—20 total tackles, half a sack and a second-place ranking among safeties over that two-game stretch. Throw in a top-10 IDP matchup for his position this week with the Carolina Panthers, and Reid is a solid spot-starter for fantasy managers who need help on the back end in Week 10.
