2025 NFL Draft Rookie Fantasy Fallout: Tight Ends

2025 NFL Draft Rookie Fantasy Football Fallout: TIght End | Fantasy In Frames

Over the past three seasons, the fantasy football world has enjoyed witnessing highly impactful tight ends join the league through the draft, such as Brock Bowers, Trey McBride, and Sam LaPorta. All are currently in the top five in Dynasty rankings and have brought a resurgence to a position in fantasy football that had hit an all-time low in production. Most fantasy managers were “punting” the position due to a lack of reliable fantasy scorers.

After the 2025 NFL Draft, many more tight ends are hopeful to join that group, as Tyler Warren (Colts) and Colston Loveland (Bears) were drafted in the first round, while four others were drafted in the second and third rounds.

In our first edition of Rookie Fallout: Tight Ends, we’ll examine these players and others and how their Dynasty Stock has risen over the offseason.

Colston Loveland, Bears

The biggest question involving Colston Loveland is how many targets can he get with DJ Moore and Rome Odunze on the outside, with D’Andre Swift in the backfield, and Cole Kmet splitting reps? Well, when your Head Coach, Ben Johnson, compares you to his previous tight end, Sam LaPorta, one can safely assume he envisions a prominent role for Loveland.

How prominent was LaPorta for the Lions the past two seasons? LaPorta was targeted 203 times, receiving 146 receptions, gaining 1,615 yards receiving, and scoring 17 touchdowns.

Needless to say, Loveland was drafted over the next player on this list for a reason, and his stock is rising!

Tyler Warren, Colts

If you saw any Penn State games last year, you know Tyler Warren. And if you didn’t see any of his games last year, welcome to the show!  In his senior season at Penn State, Warren caught 104 passes for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns. Warren, till this point, has a limited track record on production. His senior season as a Nittany Lion showed what he can do. However, his sophomore and junior seasons were not as productive. And, with a Colts’ offense still trying to find itself, he may not impact fantasy rosters in year one. However, there is talent, and if the Colts figure out how to best use Warren, then he could be considered a Top Five Dynasty tight end by the end of his second season.

Terrance Ferguson, Rams

This was a great landing spot for the Oregon Ducks product. It has been widely known that the Rams and Sean McVay have been searching for a long-term solution at tight end for years. And, as of now, Ferguson is in line to fill the role. Although Ferguson was not a primary option in the Ducks’ passing game, Ferguson is a big target with good hands. At 6’5” and 245 pounds, Ferguson tested well at the combine and impressed the Rams enough to use a 2nd-round pick on him. There is a lot to like about this landing spot for Ferguson. Fantasy managers should temper expectations for Ferguson in year one, but his dynasty stock is rising as will the Rams offense.

Elijah Arroyo, Seahawks

After sustaining multiple injuries in college, the Seahawks hope Arroyo continues to flash like he did in his senior season. Arroyo posted 35 catches for 590 yards and seven touchdowns. However, if Arroyo ends up in similar situations like his 2022 and 2023 seasons, Arroyo will be another story of how injuries ruined a player before he even got started.

Since the Seahawks invested 2nd-round draft capital to select him, Seattle hopes Arroyo has returned to his pre-injury form. With the departure of DK Metcalf, the Seahawks will be looking for reliable pass catchers for Sam Darnold beyond Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp. Although Noah Fant is the starter for now, Arroyo has long-term potential to be a Top Ten tight end in Dynasty formats.

Mason Taylor, Jets

Currently, Justin Fields is the starting quarterback for the New York Jets. The most yards Fields has thrown in one season is 2,562, not a glowing endorsement as a passer. Twenty-one passers exceeded that number in 2024.

Mason Taylor bypassed the combine to impress scouts at his Pro Day with his speed and strength. Now, Taylor has a clear path on a team with little competition at the tight end position.

Will Taylor be able to find consistent targets in this offense? Or will his potential be suppressed by an offense lacking a quarterback who would rather run than throw?

Harold Fannin, Browns

Although we won’t see instant production out of Harold Fanin in 2025 (David Njoku), his 2024 college season provides enough insight to see what he is capable of accomplishing when he is given the opportunity.

In 2024 at Bowling Green, Fannin had a fantastic 117 receptions for 1,555 yards and 10 touchdowns. Those numbers are outstanding for a player who saw his draft status drop after subpar testing at the combine.

What Fanin may lack in measurables wearing shorts and a t-shirt, he makes up for on tape. He can be a Top 10 fantasy tight end for years to come.
