We are now just officially two weeks away from the 2025 NFL Trade Deadline, which means that a lot of action is about to go down across the league, and a lot of different situations are about to be shaken up as well.
In today’s discussion, we will be going over FIVE players that could potentially be moved by the deadline in a couple of weeks, with specific landing spots for each, and detail how each move would affect fantasy football this season. So without further ado, here are 5 Trades That Would Impact The Fantasy Season!
RB Breece Hall to the Houston Texans

The Houston Texans’ offense is surprisingly struggling quite a bit this season. The offensive line is a complete mess, C.J. Stroud isn’t playing confidently at all, and the play-calling has been a disaster. Not to mention that the backfield is one big, confusing mess every single week for fantasy managers, as Nick Chubb and Woody Marks are in an ugly, annoying split this season. So far this season, Nick Chubb is getting stuffed on nearly half his runs and is not explosive in the least. He is not even averaging double-digit fantasy points per game either.
Woody Marks, on the other hand, is a very talented and explosive pass-catching back, but he is still very unrefined as a runner. The rookie is averaging a very subpar 3.3 yards per carry this season.
On the New York Jets side of things, that organization has absolutely no reason to keep Breece Hall around. Hall’s contract expires after this season, so you might as well get something for him while you still can. Even though the Jets are a dumpster fire right now, that has not stopped Breece Hall from impressing every week this season, especially as a pass catcher.
So far this season, Hall has posted a 10.8% target share, which is really good for a running back, especially considering the situation he is in. The talented running back has also posted a yards per route run number of 1.69, which is very impressive for the position. The Houston Texans need to go out and make this move. They would finally have a true, explosive bellcow, which they have clearly been lacking so far this season.
RB Tony Pollard to the Kansas City Chiefs
This might be a bit of a spicy one, but I genuinely do believe that the Kansas City Chiefs need to upgrade over Isiah Pacheco at the running back position. What better way to do that than with Tony Pollard of the Tennessee Titans, who I imagine is about to have a fire sale. Looking at this current Kansas City backfield, it has been a completely unpredictable mess every single week so far this season. Isiah Pacheco has been highly inefficient, averaging a disappointing 4.11 yards per carry and not receiving a single carry inside the 5-yard line for his team this year.
Kareem Hunt’s “value” is built solely on touchdowns, and other than that, he does absolutely nothing for you.
Lastly, Brashard Smith is a fun player to speculate on, but unfortunately, he is not getting enough snaps to be overly excited about him or to rely on him at any point.
So, no matter what you think of Tony Pollard at this point, there is no denying that he would be a much-needed upgrade over whatever the Chiefs have now. From a Tennessee perspective, this would pave the way for Tyjae Spears to be the unquestioned lead back in that backfield going forward. Spears has already been close to taking over that backfield, it seems, so it would make complete sense for the Titans to move on from Pollard while they still can.
RB Alvin Kamara to the Los Angeles Chargers
I know that Alvin Kamara has said in the past that he wants to spend his entire career in New Orleans, but the Saints’ front office would be foolish not to listen to all offers and move him by the deadline this year.
To me, Kamara is better suited to be a part of a sort of time share backfield at this stage of his career, rather than an every-down workhorse type back. On paper, Alvin Kamara is not performing in the receiving game for New Orleans this season as he has in the past. The veteran running back is only pulling a 12.1% target share this season. Still, to me, that is more of a reflection of Spencer Rattler’s propensity to want to throw the ball downfield rather than an indictment on Kamara himself. He is still a very talented player, even at this stage of his career.
For the Los Angeles Chargers, promising rookie running back Omarion Hampton is going to be out for at least the next two or three weeks, so the organization will have to get someone in there in Hampton’s absence. Kimani Vidal and Hassan Haskins are not cutting it, and with Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman’s preference for running the ball, an upgrade at the position is absolutely needed.
If the Chargers were to trade for Alvin Kamara, it would be very exciting for fantasy managers, as this is a very high-powered offense that will field a lot of touchdown opportunities weekly. This situation might get a little dicey when Hampton does eventually return from injury, but we will worry about that when we get there.
WR Jakobi Meyers to the New England Patriots
I will be the first one to admit it, the New England Patriots’ weapons have performed a lot better than I thought this season. Stefon Diggs has been a nice, steady veteran presence, Hunter Henry has been a reliable player at the tight end position, and most importantly, Kayshon Boutte has had the breakout season that no one saw coming. All Mike Vrabel and Josh McDaniels are missing in this offense is a true slot receiver threat.
Enter Jakobi Meyers, who is on an awful team in Las Vegas right now and has recently expressed his desire to be traded, by all accounts still wanting to be traded. Meyers started his career in New England, and if he finds his way back there via trade, it would be VERY exciting. Drake Maye is on absolute FIRE right now, and if he gets a very reliable and consistent slot receiver like Jakobi Meyers, this could get extremely fun. Besides, Josh McDaniels historically loves to feature the slot receiver in his offenses, so Meyers would get fed with a ton of targets from Drake Maye here.
Let’s wrap up these 5 Trades That Would Impact The Fantasy Season with my personal, totally biased scenario….
WR Chris Olave to the Buffalo Bills

Reports have been all over the place with Chris Olave. One minute, the young receiver might get traded, one minute he might sign an extension with the Saints, and one minute nothing may happen, and all parties involved will stand pat. Who knows what will happen here? But just like with Alvin Kamara, the New Orleans Saints are clearly not going anywhere with this roster as it stands right now, so the front office would be wise to move Olave and get a high pick for him. One team in particular that desperately needs a true, alpha #1 wide receiver is the Buffalo Bills, and Olave can absolutely be that for the team.
The Bills need a target hog who is very reliable and consistent at the wide receiver position, and Olave fits that role, having averaged 9.7 targets per game this season. The Bills’ “best” wide receiver this season in terms of targets has been Keon Coleman, and he has only averaged 5.7 targets per game. That is just not enough. Nobody has stepped up here for Josh Allen and this offense. If the Buffalo Bills were to acquire Chris Olave, the player would become an ELITE fantasy option right away. Anyone with the talent of Olave tied to a quarterback like Josh Allen has a chance to provide monster production for fantasy managers everywhere.
