Romeo Doubs signs with the New England Patriots: 2026 Fantasy Football Impact

Welcome to our continued coverage of NFL Free Agency transactions, as Romeo Doubs signs with the New England Patriots. Read along as I give you my breakdown of its 2026 Fantasy Football Impact!
Romeo Doubs has finally broken away from the dreaded Green Bay Packers WR rotation by inking a four-year, $68 million deal with the New England Patriots. I am a diehard Buffalo Bills fan, so I hate how much I love this for the Patriots from a fantasy perspective.

At first glance, Romeo Doubs’ 78% snap share from last season may not seem extremely high for a top option in a passing game, but as we’ve discussed before, the Green Bay Packers like to use a heavy rotation at the WR position. Even on that snap share, though, Doubs totaled 724 yards, a career high, and 6 TDs in 2025.
Is Doubs the most athletic and speediest guy in the world? No, but his separation metrics and contested catch numbers are off the charts, as the player ranked 15th in Average Separation Score amongst WRs that ran at least 300 routes in 2025, and had a 55% contested catch rate as well. Everything that we want to see in a fantasy player, the player does at a high level.
Romeo Doubs is going to be a target MACHINE in New England next season. Stefon Diggs, who was released last week, is leaving behind 100 targets within this offense, which is a LOT. Additionally, Kayshon Boutte had 45 targets last season, and Doubs is a much better version of Boutte in terms of skillset and what each player brings to the table.

Romeo Doubs THRIVES downfield (13.0 aDOT and 81.8% out wide rate in 2025), and Drake Maye is one of the best deep ball throwers in the entire league (6th in deep throw rate amongst QBs with at least 400 dropbacks last season). There are just too many obvious connections here for Romeo Doubs not to have a career year in 2026.
Romeo Doubs is finally going to be in a full-time role with the New England Patriots in 2026 and is set up for the most volume of his career by far. No more suppressed snap shares, no more inconsistent target shares, and no more limited opportunities on a week-to-week basis during the season. If you like to draft players who are guaranteed at minimum 90+ targets in an offense, Doubs is your guy.
