2025 Fantasy Football Trends for Week 12

My 2025 Fantasy Football Trends for Week 12 article has arrived just in time to help you in your matchups this week and in the future!
We’re just a couple of weeks away from the fantasy playoffs which means every decision we make is even more important as we make our final push. Here are five situations on my radar as we approach the last few weeks of the regular season.
Chris Rodgriguez’s 54% running back rush share
Love the power that Chris Rodriguez Jr puts on display on a lot of his runs

In recent weeks I’ve written about JCM’s lack of explosiveness, resulting in lacklustre production despite solid usage. Last week saw a flip in the Commanders backfield with Rodriguez handling 15 rushes, his highest total of the season so far, resulting in 79 rushing yards and a further six yards through his one reception. This equated to a 54% running back rush share, with Bill taking nine carries, and McNichols handling four. Croskey-Merritt was once again inefficient with his carries, rushing for just 28 yards.
This marks the fifth successive game with fewer than 40 rushing yards. Rodriguez’s stock, as a result, continues to rise. The second-year back played on a season-high 45% of offensive snaps and while this backfield remains split between three backs, Rodriguez is the one it seems we can trust.
After the Commanders’ bye week, I’d expect Rodgriguez to continue to dominate backfield touches in Washington.

Jacoby Brissett’s five successive top-12 finishes
Cardinals Pass Offense: catchup mode engaged! Holy moly! Brissett threw 57 times in WK11!

– Dortch: 6/6 rec | 66 yds | 1 TD
– McBride: 10/11 rec | 115 yds | 1 TD

It may not have resulted in many more wins, but Brissett has been able to breathe new life into the Cardinals offense. The veteran has thrown for at least 250 yards in each of his last five games, throwing ten touchdowns to three interceptions over that period. Brissett has now finished inside the top-12 quarterbacks each week he has been a starter. Week 11 saw him complete an astonishing record-breaking 47 passes, finishing with 452 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. So despite a few tough upcoming games, it appears we can trust Brissett in our lineups going forwards, driven by the team’s high passing rate.
Brissett has averaged 42 passing attempts per game since becoming the Arizona starter. The other benefit is that the veteran is now raising the floor of the team’s skill position players. McBride, for example, is averaging 24.5 PPR points per game, while Wilson had a career-best 15 catch 185 yard performance on Sunday.

Bhayshul Tuten’s season-high 15 rushing attempts

Tuten has shown his ability sporadically so far this year, and has clearly been behind Travis Etienne in the Jaguars backfield. Yet last week saw a shift towards the rookie, who saw a season-high 15 rushing attempts in their 35-6 demolition of the LA Chargers. It resulted in 74 yards and a touchdown, Tuten’s best day on the ground so far this season. Injury cut short what would’ve been an even bigger day.
At the time of writing, Tuten’s status for Sunday is unclear. His stock, however, is clearly rising. Fantasy managers will have to monitor his health in the short-term, but Tuten may be a highly valuable fantasy asset through the end of the season if this trend continues.
Mason Taylor’s 16% target share

Justin Fields’ poor performances of late have resulted in very little usable fantasy success for the New York Jets. One player the ecosystem has held back is Mason Taylor, who has shown flashes of what he can offer the Jets at times this season. Last week in the Jets TNF loss to the Patriots Taylor commanded a 16% target share, catching all four of his targets for 30 yards. As we approach the latter stages of the season, there are a couple of factors benefitting Taylor. With the Jets facing yet another lost season the team will likely want to evaluate its younger players, allowing Taylor plenty more opportunities to produce.
Alongside that, the team has also decided to start Tyrod Taylor. The switch should mean an uptick in passing volume, with Fields averaging just 20 passing attempts per game over the last five outings. He’s difficult to trust, but with a real lack of healthy receivers at present Mason Taylor may provide some value in the last few weeks of the season.

Luther Burden III’s season-high 5 targets
Another rookie on the rise is Luther Burden III. Burden has had a fairly quiet start to his NFL career, with Olamide Zaccheus commanding a larger than expected target share so far this year. However, the second-round selection in the draft has now played at least 40% of snaps in each of the last two weeks – his highest rates of the season. Last week Burden saw his highest number of targets to date with five, representing a 17.9% target share.
This week head coach Ben Johnson said that Burden has “earned the increased snaps”. The hope now is that the rookie can build on this further and slowly increase his target share. While it may be difficult to be consistent with the likes of Rome Odunze and DJ Moore on the roster, there is a clear role for the exciting young receiver. He’s a player to stash for the final few weeks of the season.
