2026 Fantasy NFL Free Agent Quarterbacks

2026 Fantasy NFL Free Agent Quarterbacks, come on down!
As they say, “the market is the market”, especially at the QB position, where players receive HUGE paydays all the time. There are only two notable free agent QBs this year to talk about: one massive high reward upside swing, and one who is obsessed with video games a little too much (I mean, who isn’t…I’m a video game nerd myself, too. I’m not in the NFL, though, so it doesn’t matter). Anyway, that’s enough small banter for today. Time to dive into free agent QBs.

Malik Willis is a VERY intriguing free agent this offseason, just because of what he has (or hasn’t) done in his career. Fellow FIF analyst Kyle Zeigler is not keen on Willis this offseason to say the least (no shade, you’re still awesome, Kyle), but the reality of the situation is that this player is going to get PAID this offseason, as this is a flashy, high tools QB who showed legit promise as the Green Bay Packers’ backup QB last season.
In 4 games in 2025 for the Packers, in relief of Jordan Love, Willis completed 86% of his passes, and flashed an extremely impressive 77% Highly Accurate Throw Rate. So this is clearly a player who has come a long way as a passer since entering the league four years ago and someone who is still on the rise in that department.
It’s no secret that Malik Willis is going to get a huge payday on the open market this offseason… but the question is… who is going to give him that money? My mind immediately goes to the Miami Dolphins, as it just makes too much sense at this point in terms of staff connections, and not to mention the fact that the team is inevitably going to be moving on from Tua Tagovailoa within the next couple of weeks.
Former Packers DC Jeff Hafley is now the head coach in Miami, and he got to see Willis on a daily basis in practice in Green Bay over the last couple of years. New Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan was part of the Green Bay front office that traded for Willis from the Tennessee Titans two years ago. See where I’m going here?

Malik Willis’ high fantasy upside comes from his elite rushing ability; in just 4 games with the Green Bay Packers last season, the young QB averaged 30.8 rushing yards per game and totaled 2 rushing TDs. It’s a small sample size, but the player averaged 13.0 fantasy points per game over that span, too. THAT’S where the excitement derives from here. When Malik Willis is on the field, he produces. Plain and simple.
An elite rushing QB in Malik Willis throwing the ball to two wildly explosive athletes in De’Von Achane and Jaylen Waddle? SIGN.ME.UP.

It is not technically official yet, but it was reported earlier this week that the Arizona Cardinals are going to cut QB Kyler Murray at the start of the new league year next week, as there is a whole new coaching staff in Arizona now, and the current GM is not the GM who drafted Murray all the way back in 2019. So it makes perfect sense, as Murray has underperformed each of the last two seasons in Arizona, and this staff has no ties to him whatsoever.
While Kyler Murray is not a very good QB from a real football perspective, he IS a very good fantasy QB for our purposes. From 2021-2024, the veteran QB had never finished lower than QB13 in fantasy points per game. So, outside of last season, like it or not, this is a player who has been a very consistent fantasy contributor over the years.

Now that Kyler Murray has officially moved on from the Arizona Cardinals, the spot that he should go to next is the Oakland Athletics (I’m just kidding…maybe…). In all seriousness, though, the New York Jets make a ton of sense as a legit landing spot here. New York just needs any QB with a pulse at this point, and although it might seem desperate, Murray isn’t the worst option in the world at the moment (at least I hope not). Jokes aside, the Jets have a bellcow RB in Breece Hall, a true alpha #1 WR in Garrett Wilson, and a pretty good offensive line as well.
So infrastructure wise, the franchise has a few really nice offensive pieces to work with, and I can’t believe I’m actually about to say this right now…but Kyler Murray could be in line for a nice bounce back spot here with Aaron Glenn and the New York Jets.
